A Court of Thorns and Roses (A Court of Thorns and Roses #1) by Sarah J. Maas

Updated: Aug 17, 2022

"There are those who seek me a lifetime but never we meet, And those I kiss but who trample me beneath ungrateful feet. At times I seem to favor the clever and the fair, But I bless all those who are brave enough to dare. By large, my ministrations are soft-handed and sweet, But scorned, I become a difficult beast to defeat. For though each of my strikes lands a powerful blow, When I kill, I do it slow . . ."

The Lowdown

There's no love lost between faeries and humans.

Feyre killed a wolf in the woods one winter day to feed her family. A wild beast attacks her home and gives her an ultimatum, die here or come with him to live in Prythian forever. Feyre soon discovers the beast is a man, and not only a man, but a High Fae of the Spring Court. Living now in Tamlin's lands, she finds he's not so bad, and slowly falls for him. But Tamlin's people are cursed, his land blighted and only Feyre can save them.

The book is told from Feyre's point of view, first person.

The Feels

Wow! There's a reason this book is so popular! This was intense. The emotions. The sexy. I've always wanted to attend a masquerade ball, especially if the men are as yummy as these guys sound! Of course, minus the whole 'cursed' bit, yeah, I could do without that part.

Can not wait to read the rest of the series and see what happens, because it's definitely not over. This is definitely a must read if you're into fantasy. Totally recommend! Don't forget to check out the author's page. Looking for another spicy fantasy book, look below for a suggestion and check out the second book.
